Born on November 20, 1942, in Malden, Massachusetts, to Greek Orthodox parents, he graduated from Malden High School, and then attended Wentworth Institute of Technology in 1966, where he received a degree in Applied Sciences.  Through his dedication to the school, he received an Honorary Degree of Technology in 2016. During these early years, he was an active member of the Malden DeMolay, and is a member of DeMolay International’s Legion of Honor and is a Senior DeMolay. On Friday, October 24, 2025, Jacob T. Yanovich was installed as the 65th Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal & Select Master Masons of Massachusetts. In his capacity as Most Illustrious Grand Master, he will oversee the 200th Anniversary of the Grand Council in 2026. There are currently 21 Councils and over 1000 Cryptic Masons in Massachusetts.
